ST. LUKE AFRICAN METHODIST EPISCOPAL CHURCH

Rev. Joan King has been the pastor of St. Luke for 14 years. Rev. King entered into ministry in 1984 and ordained an itinerate deacon in 1986.  In 1989 Rev. King was ordained an itinerate elder and was given her first pastoral appointment in that same year.

 

Rev. King was appointed to the historic Mt. Gilboa AME church in Oella, Maryland as the first women to pastor that church.  Rev. King also served as the first female pastor of The Star of Bethlehem AME church in Baltimore, MD 

 

Rev. King is a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is an annointed women of God who believes that she can do all things through Christ who gives her strength.
